Happy Halloween

As I am sure most Mom's out there will agree, kids get plenty, if not too much, candy on Halloween. Mine are no exception! So instead, Darth Vader, Spiderman and Princess Belle (with blond hair) will get these instead. Inside each one is a $5 bill and a love message from Mom and Dad. The "sugar-high" will be more than I can handle for the next 3 days!

Cardstock is pumpkin, black, wasabi and non- SU purple. these are 3x3 note cards tied with black ribbon.

ink is black, sunflower for the moon

accessories: ticket corner punch, black ribbon, black stickles for the spider, water color crayons and the water brush

What a Cutie Pie

I made this card because of 2 AMAZING & FABULOUS cards over on Nancy Riley's Blog: iSTAMP. Nancy made these 2 awesome cards following the SCS sketch challenge 139. This is my version of the sketch. Thanks Nancy for the inspiration and I just love the way you tied the bow. I hope you like this and I know Cutie Pie designer paper is your favorite!!

It sure will be hard to part with this card. I think its one of my all time favorites! until of course I stamp a new one!

Materials used: Cutie Pie paper, Zoofari Stamp set, All Holidays stamp set, watercolor crayons, a water brush, circle punches, ticket corner punch, Purely pomegranate double stitched ribbon, Bashful blue, pomegranate and so saffron card stock. The bow is a separate piece of ribbon, tied and attached with a glue dot.

A Few Somethings...

This sentiment says "something to do, something to love and something to hope for". I do love making cards! That "something to hope for" ... that list is too long to get into here! This is made with really rust cardstock as the base, layered with chocolate chip and Outlaw paper. I may have overdone it with the corner rounder, oh well. I also used Chocolate chip taffeta ribbon and some stickles on the leaves. The stem is colored with a rust marker. For the sentiment, I highlighted some of the words with the water brush and Sahara sand water color crayon. I still think this card needs something...brads, hardware, something. I think it is a little plain ... what do you think?

2-4-6-8 Holiday Box

This box is so cute in person and utilizes just a half sheet of cardstock. its perfect for a gift card or some treats or candy. they assemble in just minutes and are really fun to make.

The box base is always artichoke card stock stamped in matching ink with the swirls from the Season of Joy set. The wintergreen designer paper and celery card stock create the belly band. Sentiment is stamped in always artichoke directly on the striped paper. The star is chipboard covered in white craft ink, and then embossed with iridescent ice embossing powder, so it has a nice sparkle. The 1 3/8', 1 1/4', and the 1 " circle punches create the layers underneath with some Paper piercing. The wide celery grosgrain ribbon is attached on each side with a silver Brad. A very cute box for treats during the Holidays!

Lovely Winter Night

I love this card! Inspiration (and some "case"ing) for this card came from Beate's Sparkly Tree's card here. She is a queen of cards I love all of her designs.

For this I used the Lovely as a Tree stamp set in my 1st Tent topper card. I used the wintergreen designer paper from Stampin' Up (which is on promotion in November, email me for the details) plus always artichoke and shimmery white card stock. There is a major sparkle effect since I added more glitter to the snow. I also used Taffeta ribbon, some brads, corner rounder and the sentiment is from short and sweet. almost forgot the white gel pen!

A little Something

I made this card as a result of having some Basic Grey in my house for many months with out using it. I did not want to take away for the pretty paper. In hindsight- this would have made a great sympathy card.

I used close to cocoa as the card base and layered it with CTMH garden green (an exact match) and the designer paper is Basic Grey infuse. Stamps are Fancy flexible phrases (retired) and the Oh So l=Lovely hostess set. I added some old wide brown organdy ribbon from my stash, some matching markers to give the flowers some color and pewter brads for some hardware. Yikes- 8 brads on one card was really hard for me!

Jolly Holiday

This is the cutest fat Santa I have ever seen. He is from the Jolly Holiday set last year. He looks so much like the fat Santa in this years mini its hard to tell the difference.

He is water colored with watercolor crayons on watercolor paper, stamped in black stazon. He looks fabulous on this type of paper, which I almost never use. I always forget I have it. The stripe dp is from the Winter bright simply scrappin kit-- very festive and can probably double as some valentines paper because of the pink. The circle stamp is from the Perfect presentation level 2 hostess set. The colors are real red and wild wasabi. I put a very faint shadow around the Santa in light grey to make him pop. It also make his beard appear really white. Inside, I stamped a holiday sentiment. Scallop edge is made with the corner rounder, guard removed. the Snowflakes are from the snowflake spot stamp set and are stamped in silver brilliance ink.

Thanksgiving Friend

I cased this card from Beate. Check out her blog post HERE with the original card. Its absolutely fabulous and I really like the way she has been incorporating the Hodge Podge hardware into all her cards.

For this card I used chocolate chip as a base and layered with really rust and Apple Cider designer series paper. The images are stamped on some naturals ivory scrap. The faux stitching is from the CTMH set, simple stitches. It has been a really long time since I used it. The stamps are from In the Spotlight, All Holidays, and Fundamental Phrases. The flower is stamped in rust and chocolate chip. River rock stitched ribbon and Chocolate taffeta tied on to the hodgepodge hardware. One of my girlfriends will get this this year for Thanksgiving, hopefully not a Blog reader though! wouldn't that spoil the surprise?

Popcorn slider

So I made this nice Popcorn slider in honor of the $350+ popcorn sales my son got as a cub scout. Not to shabby-- but shhhhhh....Mom sold most of that at work!. I am giving this to one of my co-workers that helped me out of a terrible bind...I lost the money and she was the recipient of my panic! Yes, we found the money 3 days later, nowhere near the office but this is the short version of the story.

So now she, and all my other co-workers have been waiting for the popcorn, and waiting. The pack ordered well over $13K of popcorn and they still ran out. Some will be available tonight but the rest will come as late as November 10th. Anywho, She will get this non-scout popcorn to hold her over. So I have been trying to improve my photography skills, and I do believe I am challenged. I followed the advice of some other bloggers and added the white background and used natural light, etc and these pictures (yesterday's and today's) look very dark- even though the room I am is is bright and cheery. Onward- I'll keep working on it.

Thinking of You

This card was a result of a team challenge to submit a sample using the Stampin' Up Pretties kit and it also was the sketch challenge card from Splitcoast today. You can view the sketch HERE. I made this for a friend of the family that just had hip replacement surgery. It surely will brighten her day!

Winter Bright Simply Scrappin Class

This card series is for my Winter Bright Simply Scrappin’ Card Class. It’s the perfect class for someone who does not have a lot of time and wants their cards to be trendy. Show Me the Money, Honey...

So I am cracking myself up with this Crazy title to this post, but I wanted to share this fabulous money holder. I cased this from my upline. This is made with SU basic grey and very vanilla card stock and the Charbon designer series paper. Scallop and circle punches and a rhinestone brad make the belly band holds it all together. The stamp sets are All Holidays and In the Spotlight.

Friend Challenge card

I made this as part of Another SCS challenge, using just words with designer paper. The polka dot is from Basic Greys mellow 6x6 pad. I sponged the opposite corner of the paper so it was a little more balanced as well as the sentiment scallop so the white was not so harsh.. Old Olive and Chocolate chip card stock, plus old Olive wide grosgrain ribbon. I love that wide ribbon! Mega and Giga circle scallop punched for the sentiment from the All Holidays set. Inside I stamped a Sympathy phrase. I gave this to a friend that I work with. She lost a family member this week. I am pretty sure this is not very sympathy, but she is a good friend so it will just have to do.

Welcome to the Neighborhood

Last weeks SCS sketch challenge #144...The only image I could think of that went "across" was those on a wheel. The result: a welcome to the neighborhood card. Its bashful blue and celery card stock. Black ink and some celery ribbon. I colored with markers to match the striped sparkle paper from DCWV. You can not see the sparkle in the picture.

Vases in Vogue

This was for yesterdays featured stamper challenge on Splitcoast. HERE is the card from Sweet Miss Daisy that I chose to case (copy and selectively edit) as the challenge. Card base is very vanilla and the layers are chocolate chip and mellow moss. I stamped the mellow moss layer with a retired background stamp that looks an awful lot like background basics. The image is colored with markers in matching colors. The striped ribbon is from CTMH. The main panel is sponged with river rock around the edges and is popped up on dimensionals. the primas match the ribbon and the flowers perfectly. I am sending this to my Mom, she gave me some Gymbucks and I hit pay dirt this weekend shopping for my daughter. what fun!

Jolly Santa

Here is the same card as the last post, but made with the Jolly Santa. I just picked him up this week at Michael's. He was just to cute to pass up! The colors in this card are wild wasabi and real red.

Let it Snow

This is from last weeks sketch challenge on Splitcoast. I used the Jolly snowman stamp. I am pretty sure I purchased him online somewhere, I just cannot remember where. The cardstock is soft sky and wasabi green. I colored the snowman scarf and the background with blender pens and the ink from the top of the lid of the ink pad. Other accessories include the snowflake cuttlebug embossing folder, ticket corner punch and soft sky double stitched ribbon. the entire panel in the middle is popped up on dimensionals.

Haunting Halloween Happiness

I made these cards for a neighbor. Don't you think they turned out super cute? They are for some 4th grade book club members and her daughter that will be meeting at Halloween time.



This is the SU Haunting Halloween set that was on sale last month for $13. What a bargain! The Kitty witch is water colored with the SU watercolor crayons. I love this layout, I use it often.




This kitty witch is colored with Markers. The circle moon is the large circle from simply circles (retired). Simply circles was the very 1st ever Stampin Up set I purchased and how I met my upline. The ink for the moon is CTMH Sunflower. I sponged black onto the white to give the effect of the night sky. I tied a little ribbon on by using the slot punch to create the opening. I used the ticket corner punch on 2 of the layers. On the inside there is a white panel that says "a Haunting Halloween".



Same set but this image is water colored with the SU watercolor wonder crayons. Oval and spiral punches and some ribbon from the local craft store. I found that background paper in my many pages of designer paper.
